Recent reports hits that Ranbir and Katrina have secretly got engaged in London. This time, it looks like there is no 'rumor?' involved and we might soon hear the wedding bells ringing.
As the entire nation awaits for a confirmation from the couple, we take you through the beautiful love story of Ranbir and Katrina.
Apparently, it was none other than Deepika Padukone (then-girlfriend of Ranbir Kapoor) who first introduced Ranbir to Katrina Kaif at the latter's birthday bash in 2008.
In 2009, Ranbir and Katrina came together on screen in ‘Ajab Prem ki Gazab Kahaani’. During this time, Katrina was still dating Salman and Ranbir was in a relationship with Deepika.
Soon, Ranbir was saying ‘Tera Hone Laga Hoon’ to Katrina in real life too. Their closeness ‘off the screen’ reflected in their sizzling on-screen chemistry and the movie became a hit.
In the meanwhile, reports of Ranbir and Deepika’s fights started surfacing. And in 2010, the couple finally broke up.
Not surprisingly, people blamed Katrina for this breakup.
Later, in an interview, Ranbir admitted that he had cheated in a relationship.
Ranbir was quoted saying, “Yes, I've cheated, out of immaturity, out of inexperience, out of taking advantage of certain temptations, out of callousness. You realise it now, when you grow up and you value it more why be in a relationship, why be committed to someone when you cannot be committed?"
If Ranbir and Deepika broke up, things were not very good in Katrina and Salman’s villa too.
Apparently, Salman and Katrina parted ways silently with reasons best known to them only.
Ranbir-Katrina’s love story now started heading towards a positive direction with both leaving their past behind. In 2010, Ranbir and Katrina starrer ‘Rajneeti’ released which brought them even more closer.
The couple started making appearances together for movie promotions and were often seen getting too comfortable with each other.
During one of the media interactions, Katrina even stated, "Just because I've acted with Akshay and Salman doesn't make me older. I'm younger than Ranbir." Reasons for such a statement were quite obvious we say!
Reportedly, our Bollywood's lovebirds also spent the New Year’s Eve together in New York in 2012. Thus, revealing a lot about their relationship without which they never admitted to.
Now, the rumour mills too started working over-time about this alleged affair. Many a times, Katrina and Ranbir were spotted at various restaurants around Bandra, Mumbai.
The young lovers seem to have got a nod from the Kapoor Khandaan too. In an episode of 'Koffee with Karan', Kareena Kapoor went on to say openly that that she'd dance on 'Chikni Chameli' at Ranbir and Katrina's wedding. Thus, putting a seal to Ranbir-Katrina’s ‘secret’ love-affair.
This hush-hush affair was going smoothly till the infamous Spain holiday happened.
Ranbir and Katrina were clicked by an enthusiastic fan having a gala time at the beach in Spain. Soon, the pictures of couple in their swimwear made headlines around the media.
At last, Katrina broke her silence on Ranbir and in an interview admitted Ranbir's importance in her life. Katrina was quoted saying, “Yes, of course! Ranbir is an extremely important part of my life but beyond that I can’t say anything more.”
In 2014, Ranbir and Katrina decided to take their relationship one step further. The couple allegedly moved in together to their new flat in suburban Mumbai and threw a grand housewarming party attended by close friends from the industry.
Now this new year, 2015, opened with another big breaking news. Ranbir and Katrina’s secret engagement in London on December 30, 2014 is the latest buzz in Bollywood. Further, Katrina flaunting a big solitaire ring at the recent 'Umang' event (see in the left image) has fuelled the news all the more.
Well, how much truth is there in that ‘bling-thing’ on Katrina’s hand, only time would tell.
But, if this happens to be true, the entire nation should be all set to witness a 'Big Fat Bollywood Wedding' this year.
